    RED ROSE: New Album Details, Video Clip Released
    Israeli Power / Prog Metallers RED ROSE have signed a worldwide deal with Scarlet Records (DARK MOOR, NECRODEATH, SKYCLAD) for the release of their new album “On The Cusp Of Change”. According to a press release, “The album concept was developed starting from the very current ‘end of the world’ issue, which soon expanded into a multi-layered piece of work dealing with many other topics such as relationships and conservatism versus free thinking”. Having no permanent drummer, RED ROSE tapped Matan Shmuely (ORPHANED LAND) to sit behind the drums. The new album was once again produced by Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, JORN LANDE, REDEMPTION) at Jailhouse Studios, who previously worked on the band’s debut album, “Live The Life You’ve Imagined”, as well as two albums by Russian Heavy-Metal band ARIA. The artwork duties were handled by Brazilian artist Jobert Mello (IRON FIRE, PRIMAL FEAR), who also designed every SABATON release since 2008. According to the band, Mello “skillfully transferred the lyrical themes into beautifully wrapped visual arts”.

    REIGN OF THE ARCHITECT To Release Its Debut Album
    Israeli Progressive Metal band REIGN OF THE ARCHITECT has signed a deal with Pitch Black Records to release its debut album, “Rise”, in April 2013. As previously reported, among the guest musicians lending their talents to the release are vocalist Jeff Scott Sotto (ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ex-JOURNEY), bassist Mike LePond (SYMPHONY X) and keyboardist Joost Van Den Broek (ex-AFTER FOREVER). Regarding the recent signing of contracts, the band released the following statement: “After a long time working on our debut album, and six months of local performances and tours abroad, we are proud to start a new chapter in the band’s life; becoming a part of the Pitch Black Records roster – we’re really looking forward to working with them. Stay tuned ’cause lots of things are being cooked inside ROTA’s lair… Let it Reign!”. Pitch Black Records owner Phivos Papadopoulos also commented: “Working with newcomer artists who are first and foremost talented and passionate musicians has always been a core element of Pitch Black Records. REIGN OF THE ARCHITECT is another fine example of this and we are very excited to welcome them to our constantly growing family. We are certain that their talent and passion in music will be quite evident from first listen and will not disappoint!”.

    SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE Returns After 8 Years
    Israeli / American outfit SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE has set “Home” as the title of its new EP, to be released in March. The artwork was created by longtime collaborator Travis Smith, who previously worked on 2004′s “Temporary Psychotic State” EP (w/ AGALLOCH’s Jason Walton on Bass) and on 2005′s “Suspension Animated Dreams” debut. The new EP, which will be released as a 7″ limited to 300 copies, will feature two songs: the title track and a cover version for THE MISSION UK’s “Beyond the Pale”. According to a press release, the EP contains “lots of vintage keyboards and the band’s heaviest guitar parts ever alongside different instruments, such as violins, oud, bouzouki, lyra and an Arabic orchestra”. Says songwriter and mastermind Tomer Pink: “We got so excited while writing this long-due follow-up that we decided to release a two-track EP as a teaser for the album…”. The effort was recorded at various studios around the world with a lineup that includes ORPHANED LAND drummer Matan Shmuely, NOVEMBER DOOM’s bassist Mike Feldman and vocalist Paul Kuhr. “Home” was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH, NIGHTINGALE) at Unisound studios in Örebro, Sweden.

    THE FADING Hit The Studio For Sophomore Album
    Israeli Melodic Death metal band THE FADING has announced that recordings for its sophomore album, to be entitled “‘Till Life Do Us Part”, have begun. The album will the be the band’s first with guitarist Alex Zvulun (REBURN) and bassist Eyal Ben-Shushan (ex-FERIUM, ex-ETERNAL GRAY). according to the band, “The album will contain 12 tracks and one surprising bonus track. The musical style will fully satisfy all the old fans, and will definitely bring something fresh yet classic into the Metal scene. We want to thank all the fans around the world for their endless support and for not giving up on us during hard times!”. The album will be recorded at Tel Aviv’s A.G. Studio and produced by THE FADING. The cover art and brand new video clip will be created by artist Tim Razumovsky. As previously reported, THE FADING has released a video clip for “Artificial Future”, which serves as a first taste off of the next album.

    AMORPHIS Live In Tel-Aviv!
    Finnish veteran AMORPHIS will perform in Israel for the first time on April 19, at the Reading 3 venue in Tel-Aviv. With 10 studio albums under its wings, the band is currently working on its 11th album, “Circle”, scheduled to be released on the day of the concert via Nuclear Blast Records. The album was produced by Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN), while the recording sessions took place in Finland, at Petrax Studios in Hollola and at 5K Studios in Helsinki. Vocalist Tomi Joutsen commented about the album’s title “‘Circle’ represents integrity. Back in the days, when there was something special to talk about, wise men used to sit in circle.     Following OV METAL’s interview with Norwegian Extreme / Progressive Metal pioneers, ENSLAVED, the band has been contacted and scheduled its first ever appearance in Israel on May 30, at the Reading 3 venue in Tel Aviv. Support will be provided by ARALLU (Jerusalem) and ETERNAL DECAY (Haifa). Tickets can be purchased online for 179 NIS, or 199 NIS w/ the band’s 12th studio album, “RIITIIR”, which was released last year via Nuclear Blast Records and chosen as “Album of the Year” by OV METAL. While continuing to tour in support of “RIITIIR”, the band announced that its working on a new live DVD, or a ‘concert movie’, as described, “We will record two full sets containing material from all our releases.     WINTERHORDE: “Wreckage Ghost” Video Released
    “Wreckage Ghost”, the new video by Israeli extreme Metallers WINTERHORDE has been released. The video was directed, filmed and edited by the famous Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu of Twilight13media, and shot during December 2012 on various locations in Northern Israel and it features model Maria Chernomordik. “Wreckage Ghost” is the opening track from the band’s second studio album, “Underwatermoon” which was produced by V.Santura (OBSCURA, TRYPTIKON, PESTILENCE) and released on August, 2010, via Twilight Vertireb. Following the label’s closing, the band is now looking for a proper record company to re-release “Underwatermoon” and its future productions.

    TURISAS To Perform In Israel!
    Finnish battle metallers TURISAS will perform in Israel for the first time, together with Israeli veterans SALEM, on April 4, at the Reading 3 club in Tel-Aviv. Lately, the band have commenced the recording process for its fourth studio album, which will mark the follow-up to 2011′s “Stand Up And Fight”, and is scheduled for a release in May 2013 via Century Media Records. Last year, TURISAS has announced changes in its lineup. The band’s original drummer, Tuomas “Tude” Lehtonen, has stepped aside, and got replaced by Jaakko Jakku. Bassist Jukka-Pekka Miettinen also got replaced by Jesper Anastasiadis. In 2011, the band decided to replace its Accordion player, Netta Skog, with a Keyboardist – Robert Engstrand. SALEM, one of Israel’s revered acts, have released 5 studio albums so far and will focus on its 3rd album, “A Moment Of Silence”, on this performance.     Postponed: PAGAN’S MIND And LEPROUS In Israel
    The “Progstage Festival” organizers, have announced that the upcoming “Winter Mini-Fest”, which was set for next Friday (January 11) in Tel-Aviv with PAGAN’S MIND and LEPROUS from Norway and REIGN OF THE ARCHITECT from Israel, has been postponed. Following an injury sustained by PAGAN’S MIND bass player, Steinar, the promoters are trying to set a new date for LEPROUS with another unannounced act, while PAGAN’S MIND will return in later time. Commented PAGAN’S MIND: “We regretfully have to postpone the scheduled show… Steinar [Krokmo, bass] has spent the last week in hospital, and is still in treatment although no longer in intensive care. We are not able to regroup in time for the planned departure to Israel… We want to thank the fans and promoters for their patience and understanding, and hope to make up for this show as soon as possible.” Purchased tickets will be valid for the new date or refunded.

    KREATOR Cancels Israeli Concert
    Veteran German Thrashers KREATOR had to cancel their upcoming appearance in Israel, following bassist Christian “Speesy” Giesler shoulder injury. According to the promoters, Speesy had to undergo an urgent surgery in order to fix his injury and his recovery will take some time. Ticket holders can collect their money back from where it was originally purchased. “Phantom Antichrist”, KREATOR’s latest album that was given as a gift along with the ticket purchase, will remain with the buyers, in an act of appreciation to the fans. KREATOR was supposed to perform on January 18, at the Barbie Club in Tel-Aviv.
